Hesperia allowed three runs in the final inning of Friday's
doubleheader against White Cloud, dooming it to a 6-3 defeat and a
sweep. White Cloud won game one 8-2.
The Indians took
advantage of two Hesperia errors and a dropped third strike to score the
three runs to end the nightcap, getting only one hit during the rally.
Hesperia
(0-7) never led in the game, but twice rallied to tie it up. Daylen
Castillo had a RBI single to open Hesperia scoring in the second inning,
and Weston Hasted ripped a RBI double.
Hasted got two hits in
the game, both doubles, and allowed three earned runs on seven hits in
six innings on the mound, striking out five.
In game one,
White Cloud exploded for six runs in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie
and pick up the win. The Panthers managed four hits; Hasted got one of
them, a double, and walked twice as well. Castillo was victimized by
Panther errors, allowing two earned runs on nine hits in six innings. He
struck out seven.
