Pentwater boys basketball falls just short in tough game against Mesick

Pentwater fell just short against Mesick Friday night in a hotly contested West Michigan D League matchup.
Jacobo Martin continued to be one of the driving forces for the Falcons, recording seven steals on defense and scoring 14 points. He was one of three Pentwater players in double figures in scoring.
"(He) brought an incredible combination of speed, instincts, and control to the floor tonight," Pentwater coach Ashley Lubera said. "His quickness allows him to blow past defenders and apply constant pressure in transition, while that same speed fuels his ability to jump passing lanes and come away with timely steals."
However, the Falcons (2-7, 1-5 WMD) missed four field goals in a row after taking a one-point lead into the fourth quarter, and Mesick was 7-of-8 at the free throw line down the stretch, helping the Bulldogs pick up the win.
Abram Kieda posted an impressive double-double, with 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Brody Austin added 11 points.
