Randy VanDerZanden, 56, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2026.
He was born November 12, 1969 to John and Donna (Brimmer) VanDerZanden in Hart, Michigan. He graduated from Hart High School.
He was always willing to help anyone who needed help, and he loved his children and grandchildren deeply. If Randy were to hold you in his heart, he’d carry you there forever. He cared deeply about everyone. One of his favorite pastimes was going for rides on his motorcycle and taking his daughter along with him.
He is survived by: his sons, Jordan VanDerZanden, Brandon VanDerZanden, Austin (Summer Bolles) VanDerZanden, and Kyle (Bailee Macmillian) VanDerZanden; his daughter, Alexandria VanDerZanden; his grandchildren Brianna, Luna, Liesa and Nolan; parents, John and Donna VanDerZanden; siblings, William (Heather) VanDerZanden, Kevin (Jill) VanDerZanden, Julie VanDerZanden, and Brian (Connie) VanDerZanden; nephews and nieces, Zachary, Dakota, Kaitlyn, Tayte, Kyrsten, Lindsey, Abigail, and Andrew; and his special friend Autumn Morisson. He will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Charles and Ida VanDerZanden, and Lloyd and Lucille Brimmer; and his uncle, Ed VanDerZanden.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at St. Joseph Hall, 2380 W. Jackson Rd., Hart at 1 p.m., with interment at Elbridge Cemetery at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
