Montague continued its perfect run through the West Michigan
Conference Lakes Wednesday at the Whitehall jamboree, shooting a 175 to
win the event by 12 strokes.
Whitehall narrowly missed second place, ending up two strokes behind Ludington with a 189 to finish third.
The
Wildcats had three players finish in the individual top five, led by
Brynlee Kessler and Molly Mulder, who each shot a 41 and tied for second
place. Mulder played consistently and shot no worse than bogey on any
hole in her round, while Kessler only did worse than that once.
Marguerite O'Connell shot a 43 and took fifth, and Addi Smith posted a 50 to round out team scoring.
For
Whitehall, Riley Shafer shot a 42 and placed fourth, scoring a birdie
in her round. Kelsie McClure and Ryleigh Hershey each had a 46, and
Kadee TenBrock had a 55.
