Whitehall senior Bobby Jazwinski starred again Friday at the Under
the Lights Invitational at Grand Rapids South Christian, taking first
place in the Nightfall race and running the fastest time of anyone at
the meet.
Jazwinski finished in a time of 14:36.7, over a
minute faster than anyone else in the division of 317 runners. Luka
Hammond of Grand Haven, in a different race, was the only other runner
to clear 15 minutes all night.
The Viking boys finished in
10th place overall in the division out of 21 scoring schools. Rex
Pumford finished 18th overall in the race with a time of 16:19.0, and
Scout Freiheit finished 78th (17:55.6). Also scoring were Alex
Winczewski (126th, 19:08.0) and Pierce Westerlund (136th, 19:15.5).
The
Viking girls finished 16th of 19 scoring schools. Gabrielle Chevez led
the team with a time of 20:45.8, finishing 45th. Madison Hueschele
(21:59.2) and Reese Hesse (21:59.3) finished at virtually the same time
and placed 76th and 77th respectively. Kassie Sapp was 117th (23:00.5)
and Vivian Hesse was 215th (25:46.7).
Reeths-Puffer runners
also competed at the meet. The Rocket boys placed 15th in the 16-school
Sunset division, highlighted by Gabriel Luna in 103rd place (18:45.3).
Rockets to follow included Landon Learn in 128th (19:27.7), Kyron Novak
in 136th (19:39.6), Kasyn Novak in 158th (20:03.5) and Bo Blair in 186th
(20:55.1).
R-P's girls were 16th of 17 scoring schools.
Harper Roberts posted a solid 51st-place finish with a time of 22:00.3.
Hope Gordon finished 53rd (22:02.0), Darcy Keefe was 137th (24:14.8),
Riley Bordeaux was 219th (27:13.0) and Kelsea Kent placed 225th
(27:27.6).
