WHITEHALL — The Greater Muskegon Junior Tour capped its 2026 season Monday at White Lake Golf Club with 76 golfers participating, many of them from the White Lake area.
The boys 9th-12th grade division was the largest group to play, with 28 taking to the course. Whitehall High School golfer Jones McDowell and Montague High School player Ethan Balon were the top White Lake area finishers in the division, finishing in a tie for third place with a 7-over par 78. Whitehall's Dominic Puehler and Gabe Gilbert also placed in the top 10, tying for eighth place with a 12-over par 83.
A total of 76 golfers posted scores during Monday's Greater Muskegon Junior Tour round at White Lake Golf Club, the last round for the tour this season.
Area golfers earned each of the top three spots in the girls 9th-12th grade division, which had 12 players. Kelsie McClure of Whitehall shot a 13-over par 84 to earn the top spot, one shot ahead of fellow Viking Riley Shafer. Montague's Brynlee Kessler took third, shooting an 87. Other area golfers Molly Mulder (Montague), Olivia Ambler (Reeths-Puffer) and Ryleigh Hershey (Whitehall) also placed in the top 10.
Twin Lake's Braylen Overkamp and Muskegon's Rhyenn Woods were the top finishers in the boys 6th-8th grade division, which played nine holes and had 15 participants. Both boys shot a 42.
Thirteen golfers played in the 5th grade and under coed division, which played modified nine-hole rounds and teed off from the fairway. Patrick Foe Jr. from Whitehall was the top finisher among them, shooting an even par 35. Leo Vanbiesbrouck of Montague and Ella Kerr of Whitehall each finished in the top 10.
