Four accomplished authors, whose diverse lives have inspired extraordinary books, are coming to Montague to speak in person during September and October.
The presentations are all free and will be held at 6 p.m. at the Book Nook and Java Shop, with a 5:30 meet and greet with the authors.
They begin Wednesday, Sept. 2 when Patti Eddington talks about her newest book, a poignant and witty memoir titled Don’t Look in the Freezer: The Very Strange Life of a Veterinarian’s Wife. Readers may remember Eddington’s compelling presentation at the Book Nook in 2025 when she spoke about experiences that led her to write her award-winning book The Girl With Three Birthdays.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Kelley Peel will share with the audience how she is working to build partnerships between youth from West Michigan and Plesna in western Ukraine. She will also talk about her children’s book Seeds of the Sun: A Story of Adventure, Curiosity, and Connection from Michigan to Ukraine that helps fund those partnerships.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, West Michigan favorite Dana Precious, author of the drawn-from-real-life novel Born Under a Lucky Moon, will return to Montague to talk about her page-turner The Psychic Sisters of Oleander Street.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21, Montague resident Sally Whitbeck will introduce the audience to her four-year saga sailing around the world with her husband on their 37-foot boat. Her newly-released memoir titled Pass the Kava, Reflections of a Sailing Circumnavigator, chronicles the first year of their adventure.
The author visits are coordinated and sponsored by the Friends of the Montague Library.
