Pentwater lost a West Michigan D League doubleheader to Bear Lake Monday by identical scores of 14-4.
The
Falcons grabbed an early lead in game one when Charlie Swanger mashed a
run-scoring double to bring in Aubrie Adams. Karina Olivarez later
singled her in, and a third run in the inning made it 3-0.
However,
Bear Lake came back with two runs each in the second and third inning.
The Falcons kept pace with their own third-inning tally, and it was 4-4
after three. Bear Lake, though, took over from there.
"A number of
throwing and unforced errors by the Pentwater Falcons in the fifth
inning put the game out of reach," the Falcons posted on their team
Facebook page.
There would be no early lead in game two as the Lakers
went ahead quickly. Pentwater trailed 4-2 after three innings before a
seven-run outburst in the fourth put the game away.
Olivarez had a two-run single in the nightcap, one of her two hits in the game.
