Reeths-Puffer track teams beat Muskegon, fall to Jenison at home tri

Reeths-Puffer split a home tri meet Monday against O-K Green Conference foes Muskegon and Jenison. Both Rocket teams beat the Big Reds with scores of 81-54 (boys) and 69-36 (girls), but Jenison's very impressive squads recorded wins by scores of 98-39 (boys) and 101-36 (girls).
In the girls' meet, Jersi Bilek picked up a pair of wins in distance events, including a personal best time of 5:27.0 in the 1,600-meter run. She also won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.6.
R-P's girls added two other wins. Alyssa Hillin scored a personal best time of 54.08 seconds to win the 300-meter hurdles, and Addison Mitchelson took first in the 100-meter dash (13.84).
R-P's boys won two events at the tri meet, both of them in hurdles. Ethan Rolewicz scored a victory in the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 17.26 seconds, and Evan McHugh was first past the line in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 43.50 seconds.
