Hart rolled to an 8-0 win against Reed City Tuesday, ending the game by mercy rule with 27 minutes to play.
The Pirates (2-1) controlled possession of the ball throughout the game and did not allow a shot on goal in the win.
Addison
Barefoot scored three goals, and Natalie Rosema and Olivia Bradley each
got on the board twice. Jaidyn Reyna, in her varsity debut, also scored
in the win.
It was an impressive game for the Pirate offense,
which shared the ball well to create scoring opportunities. Bradley in
particular was impressive, delivering four assists, two each to Barefoot
and Rosema. Vivi VanAgtmael also recorded an assist to Barefoot.
Rosema
opened the scoring with the first two goals, the first coming 10
minutes into the game and the second following five minutes later. Both
goals saw Rosema use her impressive speed to slice through the Coyote
defense.
Nevaeh Reyna, Arianna Vela, April
Chaffee, Marissa Moul, Lili VanAgtmael, and Leila Zamora teamed up to
lead the Pirate defense to the shutout, the first for keeper Baleigh
Klotz.
Hart polished the game off with a goal off a set play.
Awarded a free kick near the box, the Pirates had Bradley fake a shot
attempt, and Barefoot stormed in after her with an impressive shot that
found the net for the team's eighth goal.
