Hart lost to a consistently very good Spring Lake team Monday night in non-conference play, 50-38.
The Lakers have won three district championships in Division 2 over the past five years.
Hart stuck with the Lakers most of the way, trailing only 23-19 at halftime and 40-33 going into the fourth quarter, but was unable to come back for the win.
Rilynn Porter and Reese Smith each scored nine points for the Pirates in the defeat. Alex Botbyl went for 24 points for the Lakers.
