Shelby went 1-1 in a pair of close matches Thursday at the Covenant Christian Tri, falling to Covenant Christian and defeating Zion Christian.
The match against Covenant was a close two-gamer, with the Tigers losing 25-23, 25-21. Shelby (6-11) bounced back to defeat Zion in a comeback, 18-25, 25-20, 25-11.
Peyton Rapes had another big night for the Tigers, posting 35 assists and 22 digs. Kylie Brown had 15 kills, and Brylee Friedman served six aces.
