The annual White Lake Chamber Music Festival is underway, with one spotlight event this year being the free family concert slated for Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. at The Playhouse at White Lake.
The concert, presented at no cost through partnerships with local libraries and literacy organizations, brings classical music to young audiences through storytelling, creativity, and hands-on activities designed to strengthen families during the summer months. This afternoon performance will feature acclaimed narrator and performer Anne Marie Hoover and international pianist Kuang Hao Huang, who together will bring to life two beloved musical stories: The Story of Babar the Elephant and Paddington Bear’s First Concert.
Evening concerts throughout the 10-day festival include chamber music favorites by Mozart, Schumann, Brahms, Franck, Schubert and more.
A Vienna in Bloom concert will take place Thursday, July 23 at St. James Lutheran Church in Montague. Celebrate the traditions of Vienna through a program that includes the beauty of Schubert Songs, the brilliance of Mozart’s Flute Quartet, and the intensity of Brahms’ Piano Quartet in C minor.
Making its premier performance at the White Lake Chamber Music Festival will be the Blue Lake Faculty Brass Quintet at the White Lake Golf Course Pavilion Friday, July 24. This outdoor concert celebrates a new partnership between the White Lake Chamber Music Festival and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, bringing together exceptional musicians for an evening of brass music in one of White Lake's most scenic settings.
The season wraps up in a spirited Baroque concert Saturday, July 25, including music by Bach, Corelli, Handel and more. Following the final concert, Cabaret Night closes out the 2026 White Lake Chamber Music Festival at the Book Nook & Java Shop with song, food, and wine. Margarite Abin and Jacob Halmich perform in this send-off event for the 2026 festival.
Popular free 11 a.m. Salon Concerts return to the Book Nook & Java Shop, offering informal performances by outstanding chamber musicians in a relaxed, café-style setting.
