Hart soccer rolls past Comstock Park, Clare to win home tournament

Hart dominated its home tournament Saturday, securing a pair of victories to win the tournament championship. Hart defeated Comstock Park 2-0 and beat Clare 5-0.
The Pirates were especially impressive on defense, allowing just one shot in the two games. Hart coach Joe Gilbert credited Navaeh Reyna, Ari Vela, April Chaffee, Lili VanAgtmael and Marissa Moul for their efforts on the back end.
VanAgtmael and Zoily Sarabia each scored a goal in the team's opening win, with Vivi VanAgtmael and Addison Barefoot recording assists. Baleigh Klotz made a save to pick up the shutout.
In the Clare game, Sarabia opened the scoring on an assist by Barefoot, just as the Pirates had ended the previous game. Barefoot, Olivia Bradley and Natalie Rosema added goals before the first half was out, allowing Gilbert to substitute liberally to keep his players fresh in the second half. The Pirates' final goal was an own-goal by Clare after a centering pass. Bradley and Barefoot each recorded an assist in the win.
