Hesperia track teams beat Holton at North Muskegon Tri

Hesperia opened its West Michigan Conference Rivers season Thursday at the North Muskegon Tri, and both teams defeated rival Holton.
The Panther boys knocked off Holton 73-55, and the girls won 60-52. North Muskegon, a very strong program in track, easily defeated both schools.
Both of Hesperia's overall wins in the boys' tri were in the distance events. Nate Ruhstorfer took first in the 1,600-meter run, with a time of 5:25.6, and Hunter Tinkham won the 3,200 in a time of 13:46.3.
Hesperia's girls won two events, both field events. Emily McCallum won the shot put with a mark of 32-5, and freshman McKenna Fraser earned the top spot in high jump with a leap of 5-0.
