Hart fell short of bringing home a district championship Friday night, falling to Ludington 62-49 in the finals in Ludington.
The game was very tight into the third quarter, but the Orioles were able to slowly pull away and didn't allow any late runs to the Pirates.
The Pirates (20-4) struggled with turnovers in the defeat, with 25 giveaways against a tough Oriole defense. They also didn't shoot as well as they needed to from long range, making 3-of-11 three-point attempts.
Hart spread the ball around effectively, recording assists on 10 of their 18 field goals and putting four players into double figures. Those four - Jagger Lenon, Kolton Rockwell, Caleb Ackley and Luke VanderWilk - accounted for all of Hart's scoring.
Lenon led the Pirates with 15 points, and Rockwell and Ackley each had 12. Ackley pulled down 12 rebounds, and Rockwell added eight boards and five assists. VanderWilk chipped in 10 points.
Taj Williams put in a game-high 17 points for Ludington, which advanced to this week's regional tournament in Big Rapids and a semifinal game against Gladwin.
