Walkerville earned its first victory of the season Tuesday night against Mesick, using an explosive second-half offense to defeat the Bulldogs 47-20 in West Michigan D League play.
Jamari Carter led Walkerville (1-6, 1-5 WMD) with 15 points, five steals and five rebounds. Coach Mandy Achterhof also credited Carter with great defense against top Mesick scorer Madi Putney.
Grace Riggs added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, and Gaby Berumen had eight points, six steals and five assists. Marrison Simpson chipped in eight boards, and Onyx Thommen-Fulford grabbed seven.
