Hart boys basketball erases halftime deficit, tops Ravenna to stay perfect in league play

Hart scored a key West Michigan Conference Rivers win over Ravenna Thursday night, 65-59, to remain perfect in league play.
"The team showcased tremendous resilience and clutch performances when it mattered most, overcoming an eight-point halftime deficit to secure a well-earned win in front of their home crowd," Hart coach Nick Bronsema said.
The Pirates (7-1, 4-0 WMC Rivers) opened the third quarter on a 9-0 scoring run after trailing 30-22 at the break, capped by a three-pointer from Luke VanderWilk, who scored 14 points in the game.
Spearheading Hart's success in the second half were Kolton Rockwell and Jagger Lenon, who each put in 20-plus points. Rockwell posted a team-best 24 points, hitting all eight of his free throw attempts and scoring eight consecutive points during one portion of the third quarter. Lenon added 20 points, hitting half his three-pointers. He too was perfect from the free throw line, at 4-of-4.
"Both Rockwell and Lenon stepped up in the clutch moments, combining for several crucial free throws down the stretch to seal the victory," Bronsema said. "This win demonstrates the team's growth and ability to respond to adversity, setting them up perfectly as they continue their successful season."
