Reeths-Puffer scored twice in overtime Monday night to defeat Ludington 2-0 and advance to the district finals in Cedar Springs.
The
two teams played 80 scoreless minutes to start the game, with the
Orioles holding a slim edge in shots on goal, 5-4. Once the two
10-minute extra periods got going, though, it was the Rockets who
delivered, with Owen Ritsema and London Carpenter each finding the back
of the net. Ritsema earned an assist on Carpenter's goal.
"The
boys were amazing, and once again picked up their quality more and more
as the game went on," read a post on the Rockets' Facebook page. "Proud of the resilience of this group. Major props to Ludington for being very organized and competing at a high level."
R-P keeper Liam Copenhaver extended his program season record for shutouts and made six saves in the game.
