The Friends of the Montague Library autumn book talks continue Sept. 16 when author, educator and mentor Kelley Peel will speak in person about the partnerships she has developed between youth in West Michigan and Plesna, in Western Ukraine.
Peel has also written a children’s book titled Seeds of the Sun: A Story of Adventure, Curiosity, and Connection from Michigan to Ukraine that helps fund those partnerships.
The event will be held at Montague’s Book Nook and Java Shop. It begins at 5:30 with an informal meet-and-greet with the author. The presentation begins at 6 p.m. The evening is free and open to everyone. Reservations are not needed.
On Sept. 30, West Michigan favorite Dana Precious returns to Montague to talk about her page-turner The Psychic Sisters of Oleander Street.
On Oct. 21, Montague resident Sally Whitbeck will introduce the audience to her newly-released memoir Pass the Kava, Reflections of a Sailing Circumnavigator that chronicles the first year of four remarkable years she and her husband spend sailing around the world on their 37-foot boat.
