Shelby striker Christian Llanas ripped off four straight goals in
the first half of Tuesday's game at Benzie Central, seizing control of
the game for the Tigers before they hung on for a 4-3 victory.
Llanas
led the offensive charge for Shelby (2-2), answering the host Huskies'
first goal with a scoring barrage. Cesar Cadena earned assists on all
four goals.
Shelby battled through fatigue and injuries to three key players in the
second half, allowing two goals, but was able to hold the lead and come
away with the win.
"The boys fought hard and pushed themselves through this hot day," Shelby coach Cristian Arellano said. "I’m
happy for them."
The Tigers had 19 shots on goal in the win to Benzie Central's 10.
