Hesperia football unable to slow down Manistee run game in WMC Rivers loss

esperia had a rough night Thursday against Manistee in both teams' West Michigan Conference Rivers opener, as the Mariners' star running back, Wyatt Protasiewicz, ripped off a school record 350 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in a 56-7 rout.
Manistee dominated on the ground all night, with a total of 543 rushing yards.
Hesperia (0-2, 0-1 WMC Rivers) was able to move the ball some through the air, and Tucker Bolles threw for 129 yards and a touchdown. But the Panther running game was unable to get untracked, with no back able to gain more than Quinten Taylor's 27 yards.
Weston Hasted caught Hesperia's lone touchdown from Bolles. Tanner Tinkham led the team with 38 yards receiving. On defense, Evan Conkle had six tackles, and Tinkham and Mackie McKinnon each had five.
