Few sights announce the arrival of spring as beautifully as a colorful display of tulips. Although their blossoms appear in the spring, creating a successful tulip garden begins with careful planning and planting in the fall.
The Dirt Dauber Garden Club invites the community to “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. at White Lake United Methodist Church.
Jacob Veldheer of Veldheer Tulip Gardens will share his knowledge of tulip planting and care. His presentation will include advice on choosing quality bulbs, selecting the best location, planting bulbs properly, and protecting tulips from deer.
Veldheer Tulip Gardens has been a celebrated West Michigan spring destination for generations, attracting visitors with colorful displays featuring hundreds of thousands of tulips. Jacob Veldheer’s experience will provide gardeners with practical information they can use when planning and planting their own spring gardens.
