23rd annual Silver Lake Sand Dunes Apple & BBQ Festival this weekend

Every year, over 30,000 visitors come to Silver Lake, Michigan, for a smokin’ good time at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Apple and BBQ Festival. For 23 years attendees have indulged in mouthwatering smoked barbecue from top-notch pitmasters, grooved to live entertainment and much more.
Located at Golden Township Park near downtown Silver Lake, this festival, which takes place Sept. 11 and 12, is two days of family fun featuring children's activities, a classic auto and ORV show, an apple pie contest, and a craft show where one will find a variety of locally grown apples and apple treats. Race enthusiasts can lace up for the Apple A Day 5K Run. For a full schedule of events, please scan the QR code above.
Silver Lake Road will be closed from the roundabout to just before North Shore Drive (southbound) from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, for the Apple & BBQ Festival Craft Show. During this time, North Shore Drive will temporarily operate as a two-way street. The road will reopen promptly at 6:30 p.m. once all craft vendors have cleared their booths.
This year’s festival will feature 180 craft booths, 15 food trucks, and a variety of family-friendly activities, including a petting zoo, axe throwing, GellyBall and a build-your-own flower bouquet bar.
Organizers look forward to another fun and successful weekend in this community.
