Common Ground Community of White Lake, a local nonpartisan organization, will host its next event Tuesday, Sept. 8 at White Lake Community Library, “Media Literacy: How to Know What’s True.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 5-7 p.m. and feature Laura Abramson, who is catalog librarian for Muskegon Area District Library.
The program will provide practical tools for evaluating information and reliable sources, recognizing misinformation and disinformation, understanding bias, verifying claims, and thinking critically about what people see, hear, and share.
A lifelong learner, Abramson considers media literacy especially important in today’s complicated information environment.
