The Ava VanderStelt Scholarship Colors for Hope 5K will take place Saturday, July 25, beginning at the Montague Bandshell. All proceeds from the Colors for Hope 5K provide scholarships for local high schools and support Hope Squads, peer-led suicide prevention programs that focus on educating, training, and teaching peer intervention to help combat suicide and mental health issues in our schools.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome and prayer, followed shortly by the color toss and, at 9 a.m., the race itself.
The cost to participate in the race is $30 for timed runners and $20 to walk. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in several age groups in both female and male divisions. More information at runsignup.com/Race/MI/Montague/ColorsForHope5K.
