The City of Montague announced Tuesday that it is unable to offer Supplemental Nutrition Asssistance Program (SNAP) and Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) programs for the 2026 farmer's market season, citing increased staffing costs of administering the program.
The city said it recognizes the importance of offering these programs, and staff is currently researching funding options for future market seasons in hopes of restoring the programs for the 2027 season.
Market patrons may still use their wooden and silver tokens acquired in previous years to make purchases at the Montague Farmer's Market in 2026. For questions about food assistance programs, contact Montague City Hall at 231-893-1155.
