On Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m., the White Lake Area Historical Society will present a program titled "A Video Tour of the Historic Mouth Cemetery” at the Montague Senior Center at 8741 Ferry Street.
Mouth Cemetery is the oldest burial ground in White River Township, dating back to 1851, and one of the oldest cemeteries in Muskegon County. It became a Registered Michigan Historical Site in 1989.
Mouth Cemetery is nestled on a quiet wooded bluff at the end of a narrow, winding, two-track road. Due to its difficult location and accessibility, we will bring the cemetery to you in the form of a virtual tour. There will also be brief histories of some of the “residents”.
You won’t need to wear your walking shoes or bring your own chair to this presentation as it will be held at the Montague Senior Center on Ferry Street. The program is free.
