A fatal head-on traffic crash that occurred Sunday night on White Lake Drive is under investigation by the Michigan State Police, it announced on X/Twitter.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday between Durham Road and Cogswell Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicates an 18-year-old female from Whitehall was driving a Nissan Altima eastbound on White Lake Drive when it collided with a westbound motorcycle operated by a 35-year-old male from Twin Lake. The motorcycle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane at the time of the crash.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver of the Nissan Altima was not injured. The accident necessitated the closing of the road for several hours into Monday morning.
