Run-A-Muck race set for June 21 at Scholl Farms

All are welcome to come celebrate Father’s Day and the longest day of the year by participating in a European style cross-country, run/walk race Sunday, June 21 at Scholl Farms, 5955 Eilers Road in Montague.
This year marks the 22nd running of this race, though it has been two years since the last Run-a-Muck. Obstacles and challenges on the race course guide you over and through this rural farm with wooded trails. While the course is mostly flat, there will be water, mud, hay bales and logs along with some special challenges to test your dexterity and speed. The second half of the 10K is rather rugged on newly developed trails.
Kids 10 and under can enjoy the Splash & Dash at 9:10 a.m. on a special kid-friendly 1K course. Ribbons will be given to all finishers, and trophies will be given to the first three boys and girls over the finish line. Entry fee is $1.
The 10K will start at 9:30 a.m. The 5K Run/Walk and Dogs on Leash starts at 10 a.m. All kids, 10-99, can enjoy a three-person, four-legged sack race at 11:15 a.m.
“The Run-A-Muck is such a great way to enjoy nature, stay fit and have a lot of family fun," said Stu Scholl, race organizer and Scholl Farms owner, in a press release.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Traditional and special awards (including 1st, 2nd and 3rd dog on leash) have been created by Claybanks Pottery and will be presented after the sack race. The race day concludes with a homemade potluck around noon for participants, family and friends.
“I would like to thank everyone for their patience and support during our two-year hiatus. It's good to be back in the running,” Scholl said.
