Reeths-Puffer senior Mason Darke capped his record-breaking career
Saturday by earning a pair of all-state awards at the Division 1 state
track finals in Rockford.
Darke was all-state in both hurdles
events. He took third place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of
14.52 seconds, and was sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.20
seconds. He graduates as the school record holder in both races.
Although
Darke was the only Rocket medalist Saturday, several other athletes
competed. Evan McHugh placed 11th in the pole vault with a mark of 14-0,
and Marvin Moore finished 14th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.75
seconds.
Also for R-P, Makayla Disselkoen placed 19th in high
jump (4-11); the 800-meter relay team of London Rankin, Emcee McLaurin,
Moore and Ethan Rolewicz placed 20th (1:29.7); Rankin was 33rd in the
100 (11.21); and Jamichael Williams finished 36th in high jump (5-11).
