Whitehall teacher Brian Milliron received an Exceptional Person in Community Schools award from the Michigan Education Association May 6.
The MEA's Shoreline Educational Coordinating Council hosts its EPIC awards each year to honor deserving area educators and support staff in schools.
Milliron teaches government, economics and history as well as coaching varsity girls basketball and quiz bowl. This week, his honors U.S. history class was able to take a field trip to the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids.
"When not teaching or coaching, he's out supporting our youth and all of their endeavors," Whitehall District Schools said of Milliron in a Facebook post.
