Whitehall dropped a doubleheader to Newaygo Thursday by scores of 4-2 and 11-1.
Almost
all the runs in game one came in the first inning, after which the
Vikings trailed 3-2. Whitehall held Newaygo scoreless from there until
the fifth, but couldn't come up with the big hit needed to tie it up.
Janie
Fagan had a two-run double for Whitehall in the first, one of two hits
for her. Beth LeaTrea also had two hits. LeaTrea struck out 13 in the
circle and allowed only three hits.
The Lions dominated game
two to polish off the sweep. Ryleigh Smith got two hits for Whitehall,
and Fagan's RBI single plated the only Vikings run.
