Whitehall finished second to Ludington in Monday's West Michigan
Conference Lakes jamboree at Whitehall, with Montague in fifth place.
The
race for second was very tight. Whitehall shot a 163, 15 strokes behind
Ludington, but only four shots separated the Vikings and Wildcats;
Manistee's score was 164, and Fremont's was 165.
Three local
players tied for the No. 5 spot in the individual standings. Michael
Flanagan had a 39 for Montague, highlighted by an eagle on the par-4
10th hole. He also had a birdie during his round.
Gabe Gilbert
and Jones McDowell each shot a 39 to lead the Vikings, and both made a
birdie during their rounds. Gilbert did not do worse than a bogey on any
hole.
Also for Whitehall, Finn Novy shot a 42 and William
Burger had a 43. Jonah Henderson was the No. 2 scorer for Montague with a
41, followed by David Gowin with a 42 and Ethan Balon and Alexander
Hansen each with a 45. Gowin scored a birdie during his round.
