Reeths-Puffer's Marvin Moore to receive MASHF Student-Athlete award

Next Saturday's Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will feature some local flavor, as Reeths-Puffer's Marvin Moore has been named the organization's male Student-Athlete award winner for 2026, and Whitehall wrestling coaches Justin and Collin Zeerip will be part of the entire Zeerip westling family being inducted into the Hall.
The induction ceremony will take place at the Fricano's Event Center in Muskegon Saturday, June 6.
Moore was one of three White Lake area athletes to be finalists for the award, as Whitehall's Corde Anderson and Montague's Fletcher Thommen were also in the finalist pool of five athletes.
Moore starred for the Rockets in basketball and track this year and also previously played football. He is ranked in the top 10 all time in scoring at R-P in basketball and is taking aim at the 400-meter school record in his final high school track meet Saturday.
The two Zeerips, meanwhile, will be inducted alongside dad Craig and brother Brandon. Craig, who was also inducted into the Michigan Wrestling Association Hall of Fame last fall, was a star wrestler at Fremont and competed at Ohio State. He later coached at Hesperia, where all three of his sons starred; Justin went 260-0 in high school and holds state records for wins and pins, and Collin and Brandon also rank in the top 10 all time in wins in Michigan. The three combined to win nine individual state titles, and each (Justin on the 2006 cross-country team and Brandon and Collin on the 2008 wrestling team) also contributed to a team title.
