Reeths-Puffer softball downs Fruitport in home finale

Reeths-Puffer capped the home portion of its schedule Wednesday with a 6-2 win over Fruitport.
The Rockets took a 4-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the win behind a dominant pitching effort. Lainey McDaniel went six innings in her final home game, striking out seven and allowing seven hits and no earned runs. Makayla Jewett closed the game out.
Kenzie Jacobs got three hits for R-P, and Ava Gibbs added two. Tessa Ross got a hit and drew three walks. Lorelei Herrygers waked twice and scored three times.
