Reeths-Puffer coach Matt Pallett was pleased with the steps forward
his team took Monday at the Mona Shores Invitational. The Rockets
finished 12th out of 18 teams and shot a 346 despite battling windy
conditions.
Kristian Brown played a strong round, shooting a
four-over par 76 to take fifth place overall. Brown knocked in a birdie
on the 10th hole during his round, and at one point made eight straight
pars.
“Kristian had one of his better rounds of golf today," Pallett said. "He played very
solid throughout the round. He hit a lot of quality shots today. He is
starting to peak at the right time.”
Ian Vokal posted an 84,
continuing a solid freshman campaign. He made two birdies during the
round. Beckitt Johnson shot a 90 for R-P, and Beckett Mathes had a 96,
making a birdie along the way.
“Ian Vokal and Beckitt Johnson are two underclassmen that continue to
get better for us," Pallett said. "They both had good stretches of golf today.”
