Reeths-Puffer routed Holland Friday night at Marsh Field, 14-1, to improve to 7-10 on the season.
The
Rockets ripped off eight first-inning runs to take command en route to
the mercy-rule win in five innings. The first four batters of the game
either were hit by pitches or walked, and R-P followed with a barrage of
hits to rack up runs.
Tyler Sykes had a RBI single, and later
in the inning Jack Yonkman ripped a RBI double. Ethan Frang's RBI
single capped the first-inning surge.
Frang had two hits and
three RBI in the win, and Paul Smith and Bentley Kops each had two hits.
Brendan Guikema pitched four innings, allowing no earned runs on one
hit and striking out six.
