Reeths-Puffer defeated North Muskegon in the first game of a
doubleheader Wednesday, 6-4. The second game ended in a 5-5 tie due to
darkness.
The Rockets twice took one-run leads in the game,
and the second one stuck. The go-ahead run scored on a fifth-inning balk
by the Norsemen pitcher. Jaxon Lee then had a RBI double in the sixth
to add an insurance run.
Brendan Guikema got three hits and
had three RBI in the win, and Hank Mitchelson also got three hits. Ethan
Frang and Bentley Kops each had two hits.
Frang and Guikema
again had big games in game two, with Frang collecting three hits and
Guikema adding two, with three RBI. Tyler Sykes and Brayden Meuwenberg
also had two hits.
The Rockets outhit North Muskegon 12-3 in
game two. Sykes pitched 3 1/3 innings, striking out five and allowing
one hit and one run.
