Montague continued its stranglehold on West Michigan Conference
Lakes contests Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Manistee, 7-3 and
10-3.
Wildcat pitcher Eli Petersen pitched a three-hitter in
game one and allowed no earned runs. He struck out 11. He also opened
the scoring in the opener with a first-inning single, which combined
with an error scored Cole Moss from first base. Dylan Bailey and Cooper
Bradley each got RBI hits in the second inning, and the Wildcats rolled
from there.
Bradley, Moss, Bailey, Cole Herremans and Fletcher Thommen each got two hits. Herremans and Bailey scored two runs apiece.
The
Wildcats (16-3, 8-0 WMC Lakes) took command of game two with five
first-inning runs. Herremans and Levi Auger each had a two-run single in
the inning. Karter Johnson got two hits and Auger drove in four runs.
Moss got a double in the game.
Herremans got the win, pitching
five innings and striking out nine. Remi Lohman pitched the final two
innings and allowed one hit, striking out three.
