Jewett dominates in the circle, Reeths-Puffer softball wallops Ludington

Reeths-Puffer scored a sweep of Ludington Thursday in non-conference action, 13-3 and 7-0.
R-P scored three times in the first inning, first on a wild pitch that brought Tessa Ross across the plate, and next on a two-run single by Caydence Rettinhouse. The Rocket offense stayed hot the rest of the way, collecting 16 total hits in the game.
Ross went 4-for-4 and scored four times, driving in two runs. Kenzie Jacobs got three hits, and Rettinhouse, Lainey McDaniel and Kennedy Masse each had two. Masse doubled for the Rockets' lone extra-base hit.
Makayla Jewett got the win in the circle, allowing one earned run and racking up an impressive 16 strikeouts. She surrendered five hits.
The Rockets grabbed an early lead again in game two, again when Ross scored on a wild pitch. Masse's two-run single highlighted a four-run second for R-P, and McDaniel raced around the bases on an inside-the-park home run in the fifth to cap the Rockets' scoring.
Masse and Olivia Ambler each got two hits, and Jewett dominated again in the circle, allowing only one hit in six innings. She struck out eight.
