Whitehall tennis blanked by Mona Shores

Whitehall fell to Mona Shores Thursday in a non-conference dual, 8-0, although the Vikings did push one match to three sets and played extended sets in two other ones.
Akeelah Martin had the Vikings' best performance in the match, taking the second set from Kendra Hylland at No. 2 singles before falling in a marathon third-set tiebreaker in a 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 defeat.
Riley Shafer, at No. 3 singles, dropped a first-set tiebreaker in her match, and Avarie Bentz/Nora Grey extended a set to 7-5 in their match at No. 1 doubles.
