Whitehall lost a non-conference doubleheader to Sparta Friday, 12-1 and 11-6.
The
Vikings' offense was stifled in game one, getting only two hits. Janie
Fagan scored Whitehall's only run after hitting a triple, with Ryleigh
Smith driving her in.
In game two, the Vikings (5-9) battled
back from an early 6-0 deficit to keep the game within range, but could
never get the tying run to the plate. Smith and Toree Carlson each got
two hits, and Smith drove in two runs.
