Whitehall boys track sweeps Oakridge Tri; girls go 1-1

Whitehall's boys team swept the Oakridge Tri Tuesday, defeating Oakridge 90-47 and dispatching Ludington 105-31.
The Viking girls split the tri meet, defeating Oakridge 76-53 but dropping a close matchup to Ludington 73-58.
Whitehall set three personal bests in wins in the boys' meet. Rex Pumford got one in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 51.74 seconds, and Javi LeBlanc won the 800 in his own PR time of 2:02.0. Judd Musk set a PR in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.74 seconds, and Musk also won the 300 hurdles in a time of 45.59 seconds.
Bobby Jazwinski won both long-distance races for the Vikings, posting times of 4:20.7 in the 1,600 and 10:02.2 in the 3,200.
Caden Bowyer won the discus with a mark of 141-85, Ayden Mendoza earned a season best 6-8 to win the high jump, and Graysen Olstrom won the pole vault with a mark of 12-0.
The Viking boys also won three relays. Brayen Sorensen, Mendoza, Elijah Smith and Tim Vieira won the 800 (1:36.0), Javi LeBlanc, Pumford, Smith and Jevon Hilliard won the 1,600 (3:33.9) and Hilliard, Pumford, LeBlanc and Jazwinski won the 3,200 (8:11.0).
In the girls' meet, Gabrielle Chevez had a big day, winning all three distance running events. Chevez won the 800 (2:51.1), the 1,600 (6:11.7) and the 3,200 (14:24.1). Aaliyah Jamison also excelled with wins in both throwing events. She had marks of 80-8 in the discus and 32-5 in the shot put. The Vikings also won the 3,200 relay with the team of Lily Britton, Ryanne Ellsworth, Ryleigh Hershey and Izzy Hesse (4:58.1).
