Whitehall baseball loses doubleheader to Zeeland East

Whitehall dropped a doubleheader to Zeeland East Saturday by scores of 11-4 and 12-0.
The Vikings (2-6) briefly led in game one, 2-1, after scoring twice in the second inning, but the Chix reclaimed the lead in the bottom half of the inning and pulled away from there.
Emmett Hecht had a two-run double for the Vikes in that second inning and was one of six players to get one hit apiece in the game. Justin Jensen scored twice. Hecht pitched two innings in the game, allowing no earned runs and striking out three.
The Whitehall bats were largely silenced in game two, getting only two hits and not drawing any walks. Five of the Chix's 12 runs were unearned due to Whitehall errors. James Brooks pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings, allowing one hit.
