Reeths-Puffer track teams fall to Mona Shores

Mona Shores got the best of Reeths-Puffer in an O-K Green Conference dual Tuesday at Shores. The Sailors won 89-47 in the boys' meet and 96-40 in the girls' meet.
The Rocket boys won four events against Shores. Mason Darke took first in the 110-meter hurdles, posting a time of 14.93 seconds, and Gabriel Luna won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:31.5. Evan McHugh took the win in pole vault with a personal best mark of 12-2. R-P also won the 800 relay, with Darke, London Rankin, Landon Howland and Emcee McLaurin teaming up for a time of 1:31.5.
R-P's girls won five events. Jersi Bilek took first in the 800 with a time of 2:25.9, and Taryn Gill won the 100 hurdles in a personal best time of 19.14 seconds. R-P won both throwing events, with Sophia Wathen taking the discus (81-0) and Zaire Wright winning the shot put (29-8). R-P's 400 relay team of Raquel Walker, Addison Mitchelson, Wyn Waggoner and Jailynn Zuniga grabbed a win as well (54.39).
