Reeths-Puffer golf finishes 4th at Mona Shores jamboree

Reeths-Puffer moved up one spot from the previous O-K Green Conference meet Tuesday at the Mona Shores jamboree, taking fourth place with a team score of 172 - 17 strokes behind first-place Mona Shores.
Kristian Brown led the Rockets with a 38, taking fourth place, and made four birdies in his nine holes. Following Brown were Beckitt Johnson and Beckett Mathes, who tied for second on the team with a 43. Mathes' score marked a new career best at the varsity level and included a birdie.
“I am really happy for Beckett Mathes," R-P coach Matt Pallett said. "He has worked hard to put himself in position to contribute on the varsity. He is a good player that lacks a little self-confidence. Tonight was a big step in proving to himself that he can do it.”
Ian Vokal rounded out R-P scoring with a 48.
