Reeths-Puffer baseball wins thrilling game over Caledonia

A walk-off double by Brayden Meuwenberg scored Reeths-Puffer a needed 7-6 win over Caledonia Thursday in O-K Green Conference play.
After the visiting Scots tied the game at 6 in the top of the seventh inning, Hank Mitchelson drew a leadoff walk. Pinch runner Landon Learn then took second on a wild pitch, and with a full count, Meuwenberg delivered with the winning double.
R-P (4-3, 3-2 O-K Green) took the lead with a three-run second inning after falling behind 2-0. Two Rockets scored on an error in the inning, and Ethan Frang's RBI single put R-P ahead. The Rockets never trailed again.
Frang, Mitchelson and Brendan Guikema got two hits each in the win. Guikema pitched 6 1/3 innings before pitch-count limits forced him out of the game. He allowed three earned runs and struck out six. Meuwenberg got the win by completing the seventh.
