Reeths-Puffer let a late lead slip away in game one of Tuesday's
O-K Green Conference doubleheader against Caledonia and couldn't bounce
back, losing the doubleheader 6-5 and 8-1.
The Rockets (3-3,
2-2 O-K Green) were up 5-3 going into the seventh inning of game one,
but after a hit batter and a walk put two runners on base, the Scots
delivered with a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly to tie the score
5-5, then scored the winning run on another single.
Brendan
Guikema had a RBI double in the game, one of his two hits. Tyler Scanlan
got a hit and walked twice. Tyler Sykes pitched four innings, allowing
no earned runs and three hits.
Game two got away from the
Rockets early as Caledonia scored seven times in the first two innings.
The game was called after five innings.
Guikema again got two hits and drove in the Rockets' only run with a double. Eli Bessinger also doubled in the game.
