Montague track teams split home dual with Oakridge

Montague's girls team defeated Oakridge in a West Michigan Conference Lakes dual meet Tuesday, 83-49. The boys team fell to the Eagles in a close dual, 75-62.
Addi Smith had a big day for the Wildcats by sweeping the sprints, including setting a new personal best time of 13.31 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Her time was 29.20 seconds in the 200. Smith also won the pole vault with a mark of 8-0.
Gabby Dietz took wins in two events. Dietz won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.99 seconds and also took first in the high jump, setting a new personal best of 4-10.
Other Wildcat girls' winners were Annelyse Schneider in the long jump (13-7); Willa Van Loon in the discus (68-7); Molly Mulder in the shot put (26-6); Neviah Davis in the 400 meters (1:08.9); and Erica Hansen in the 800 meters (2:56.2). The Wildcats' 1,600 relay team of Davis, Jenna Erickson, Cadence Fox and Novalea Cannon also finished first (4:57.5).
In the boys' meet, Isaac French won both throwing events with marks of 121-3 in the discus and 50-8 in the shot put. Michael Jones won the 300 hurdles (48.50) and the pole vault (11-0). Isaiah King won the 400 meters (57.92) and Devlin Dean took the long jump (19-7.5). The Wildcats also won the 1,600 relay with the team of Jones, King, Jeremiah Plumhoff and Maximus Dyer (4:01.9).
